Stephen Marley is the son of Rita Marley and Bob Marley. He was born April 20th, 1972. His well known nickname is Raggamuffin. He became part of the band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. At eight years old he did the lead vocals for the song named Sugar Pie. Two years later he would later sing the song live at the 1982 Jamaica World Music Festival that took place in Montego Bay. Many of his songs with the Melody Makers include, Mama, Tipsy Dazy, Traffic Jam, Bygones, Keep On, Long Winter, Five Days A Year, Notice, One Good Spliff, All Day All Night, and Jah Bless.

After the Melody Makers and his musical success there, he went on to produce his brother Damian Marleys solo albums. He was also featured on some of the tracks on Damian Marleys solo album Welcome to Jamrock. The songs included, Pimpas Paradise, Hey Girl, All Night, and For the Babies. He has also produced for his other brother Julian Marley as well as produced and performed on the Chant Down Babylon which honored his father.

Stephen Marleys success is still great today. He has been a guest performer with many popular artists. Some of these include, Nelly, The Fugees, Damian Marley, Dead Prez, Inner Circle, and Eve.
