There are many popular forms of Reggae music. One popular form is called Lovers Rock. This form of Reggae did not solely originate in the homeland of Jamaica. It was founded in London in 1970 and given its name of Lovers Rock. This style drew many singers to sing this, giving the opportunity to sing more romantic songs. Many new singers to come to this form of Reggae were female singers. There are many different instruments used in Lovers Rock. Some of the instruments include a drum kit, guitar and a base drums. In addition great vocals and backup vocals are imperative for the world of Lovers Rock.

Lovers Rock has been popular since the late 1970s and gained increasing popularity in the 1990s. Many albums have been released and many concerts have been performed. Reggae Sunsplash is a famous venue that many Lovers Rock songs have been played at. This was probably one of the more famous Reggae music festivals and was brought to the United States giving people in the States a chance to hear this wonderful music.
